Trooper recognized for efforts to curb drunk driving

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Two local members of the Indiana State Police are being recognized for their efforts in keeping our area safe.
Trooper Payton Utterback is being commended for his efforts to curb impaired driving.
He arrested 39 drivers for impairment-related offenses in 2024, which is the most out of any trooper at the Versailles Post.
"His dedication and commitment to taking impaired drivers off of our roadways undoubtedly has made our roadways and communities safer,” said ISP Versailles Post Commander Lt. Paul Adams.
The ISP also named Miranna Heim as their 2024 Dispatcher of the Year.
Heim serves as the Regional Dispatch supervisor for the Versailles and Sellersburg ISP posts.
The award is given to a regional dispatcher for their technical expertise, calm demeanor during high priority dispatches, and non-emergency calls for service while maintaining operations support for enforcement personnel and surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Utterback and Heim were both recognized during the ISP Awards Ceremony earlier this week.
