(AURORA, Ind.) – The longtime executive director of the Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corporation (SIEOC) has announced her retirement.
Tammy Cunningham has worked for the nonprofit for 46 years and has served as the executive director for the past two decades.
Cunningham has committed herself to the SIEOC mission of improving the conditions of how local people live, learn and work.
“She has worked diligently to secure various funding resources which allow SIEOC the opportunity to provide quality services to our communities. Under Tammy’s leadership, SIEOC has been adaptable to the needs of SIEOC employees, clients, shareholders, and the communities the agency serves,” the organization said.
An Open House to celebrate Cunningham’s retirement will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. It will be held at SIEOC which is located at 110 Importing Street in Aurora.
Cunningham will be replaced by Colleen Lay who has been with SIEOC for 31 years, including the past 14 years as CFO.
Lay has been actively involved in program administration and agency management and has established relationships with SIEOC Program Managers and community shareholders which will allow for a smooth transition of leadership.
Tammy said, “Colleen and I have worked closely together over the past 31 years, and I am excited to see her lead SIEOC to even greater heights in serving our communities”.
