(MANCHESTER, Ind.) – The Manchester Township Fire Department is now able to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical services.
The ALS services includes Advanced EMT’s and paramedics, cardiac monitoring, advanced medical procedures and technologies, IV fluids and emergency medication, advanced airway management, and treatment for heart attacks, seizures, and more.
“This is a huge milestone for our department and our community. Upgrading from Basic Life Support (BLS) to ALS means we are now equipped to deliver more advanced, life-saving care during medical emergencies, right from the moment we arrive on the scene,” the department said.
The department added, “When seconds count, the ability to start advanced care on the scene — rather than waiting until arrival at the hospital — can truly be the difference between life and death.”
