(MILAN, Ind.) – A nonprofit equine farm in Milan is using horse therapy to help those with special needs.
The Impressive Dogwood Horse Ranch has been in operation for more than two decades and is funded by donations.
It was founded by Ronald Brandes who had previously served in the Army for 28 years.
Brandes has found a passion for using horses to help children and adults who have disabilities.
Horse therapy can benefit participants by improving their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
Studies have also found that horseback riding can help kids with their posture, balance and flexibility.
Impressive Dogwood Horse Ranch offers individual sessions and regular horse riding lessons as well.
The farm is located North County 575 East in Milan and you can learn more about the operation by clicking here.
