(COLERAIN TWP., OH.) – A Cincinnati-area teenager has been found safe after being missing for a month.
16-year-old Madison Fields disappeared from the Colerain Township area on February 13.
Fields was safely located in Florida on Friday.
“We are thankful Madison is safe and will soon be back in Ohio,” stated FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Jason Cromartie. “I want to thank all the law enforcement agencies involved for their relentless work to find Madison.”
She was located after police identified a person of interest in Tennessee. Authorities went to the home but the suspect had fled prior to police arrival.
Law enforcement then identified a hotel in Florida that the suspect was believed to be.
FBI officials then located the suspect’s vehicle in Palatka, Florida.
“Madison was then found safe at the local hotel. The suspect was taken into custody and more details on the charges will be released in the near future,” officials said.
Agencies involved included FBI Cincinnati, the Colerain Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (FL), Palatka Police Department, FBI Jacksonville, FBI Nashville, and the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team.
