Man jailed after being found at Bartholomew Co. park

(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – A Flat Rock man is facing drug charges after police found him at Owens Bend Park in Bartholomew County early Wednesday.
Police say 38-year-old Lakota Slaughter and his motorcycle were under a shelter house at the park around 2 a.m.
Slaughter’s drivers license was suspended and the motorcycle displayed a false license plate that had expired in 2022, police said.
“A records check of the motorcycle's VIN identified the last registered owner as an individual from Montana,” Bartholomew County Sheriff Chris Lane said.
A K-9 responded and it led to a police search where they allegedly found 57 grams of methamphetamine along with syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
