Missing Ohio man found after crashing into Hamburg pond

(HAMBURG, Ind.) – An elderly man that was reported missing in northwest Ohio was found safe in Franklin County on Wednesday morning.
Around 7:45 a.m., deputies and Oldenburg firefighters were called to a report of a vehicle submerged in a pond in the Hamburg area.
It happened on Senft Road, which is a dead-end road that connects to North Hamburg Road.
The 84-year-old told deputies that his vehicle went into the water around 12 a.m. and he remained in the vehicle until property owners found him approximately seven hours later.
The property owners helped get the man to safety and he was able to warm up in the back of a deputy's car.
He was not injured and deputies were able to make contact with his family.
A Missing Persons report had been issued for the man in northwest Ohio on Tuesday.
There is no word on why he was in Franklin County.
