(DILLSBORO, Ind.) – Nobody was seriously hurt after a semi and pickup truck crashed near Dillsboro on Tuesday.
It happened around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50 and County Road 750 East.
Ripley County deputies say a 19-year-old from Dillsboro was operating a Ford Ranger that was crossing over U.S. 50 when it was struck.
The semi was operated by a 48-year-old man from Missouri.
“The Ford Ranger was thrown across the grass median and onto the eastbound lanes of traffic,” said Ripley County Sheriff Rob Bradley.
The 19-year-old had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor of this incident.
The sheriff's office says this accident serves as a reminder to stop and look both ways when crossing four lane highways.
