(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – It only took a few minutes for North Vernon’s military banner program to reach maximum submissions.
Those interested in honoring a loved one will have to mark their calendar for July 2026 when the program opens back up.
Banners are available for purchase to be flown for two years, so we expect to have openings in 2026 for those who were not able to purchase a banner in 2024 or 2025,” City officials said.
The banner program recognizes 91 military veterans at a time.
The City will also host a free breakfast for veterans and their loves ones on November 7. It will be held at 9 a.m. at the Entourage Celebration & Event Center.
“The City of North Vernon deeply appreciates the sacrifices made by those in our armed forces. We owe you our deepest gratitude, to those past and present. Your sacrifices, bravery, and dedication will never go unnoticed or unappreciated,” the City added.
