OA students need fundraising push to make beautification project a reality

Fundraising effort ends March 28

(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Oldenburg Academy students are hoping to get help as the deadline for a fundraiser project approaches.
The students have started a project called ‘Beautifying The Burg’ where they hope to transform the area around the Maypole.
They hope to resurface the basketball court and make it multi-use for pickleball. The project would also involve a fire pit, landscaping and seating.
OA’s project is one of four in Indiana that is eligible for a matching grant through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).
It requires $25,000 in donations and they are currently at $13,500. The deadline to donate is March 28.
The student project coincides with another initiative through the Town Council that would involve a walking trail and green space and a small pavilion.
