Passenger trains to stop in Greensburg, Batesville this weekend

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Two passenger trains will be dropping off tourists in Southeast Indiana this weekend. 

The Ohio Railway Experience features historic electric locomotives and vintage railcars. 

The trips originate in Cincinnati and this weekend an estimated 600 passengers will disembark the train for extended layovers in Greensburg and Batesville. 

On Saturday, the train will arrive in Greensburg around 12 p.m. and passengers will spend three hours in the downtown area. 

This has become an annual stop that is held in conjunction with the Decatur County Stellar Team. You can read more about the Greensburg visit here. 

On Sunday, the train will depart Cincinnati and make a 3-hour stop in Batesville from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

It will stop near Liberty Park and passengers will have the opportunity to explore the Batesville Kiwanis Applefest which will be ongoing. 

“[Applefest] is a major fall fundraiser featuring apple-themed foods (fritters, dumplings, cider), local vendors, live music, family fun, and supports community programs,” the Ohio Railway Experience stated.
