Honors fallen Indiana police officers

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The annual ‘Cops Cycling for Survivors’ bicycle ride came through Southeast Indiana on Monday.
Cyclists pedal all across the state and the event raises funds to support scholarships, camps and events held in memory of officers killed in the line of duty.
Active officers and civilians are part of the ride as it went through Liberty, Batesville and Versailles on Monday.
“We started in Plainfield, then went to Terre Haute and up to Merrillville all the way across to Angola and down to Bluffton,” said cyclist Holly Heath.
The ride includes an Indiana State Police escort and a cargo truck that honors four Indiana police officers who died in the line of duty.
Cops Cycling for Survivors has been existence for 24 years and it originally began as a trip from Indianapolis to Washington, D.C.
“The ride has gone through many changes over the years, but one thing has remained constant…the cyclists’ dedication to honoring fallen law enforcement heroes and supporting their survivors left behind,” the organization said.
