(INDIANAPOLIS) – A Lawrenceburg bus driver is having quite the day on the campus of IU Indianapolis!
Amber Pickett volunteered on her off day on Sunday to help the occupants of a bus fire on I-275 near Lawrenceburg.
Pickett arrived on the scene to find that the occupants were members of the IU Indy basketball team.
The school’s athletic director invited Pickett to attend the team’s home basketball game against Wright State on Saturday afternoon.
She was honored at halfcourt before the game and also had the chance to meet Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.
Pickett also reunited with the team under much better circumstances. The team even gave them a signed game ball as well!
She was also interviewed and will be featured on WISH TV tonight.
