Photos: Storms cause damage in Sunman area

Family shares experience

(SUNMAN, Ind.) -- Local EMA officials have been surveying storm damage from Friday night.

The storms downed trees and power lines with the majority of the damage in our area occurring in the Penntown-Sunman area.

Lisa and Adam Wolf were at their home on North County Line Road in Sunman during the storm.

"We started on the front porch listening to the storm and thunder. It was no different than any other storm," Lisa said. "Then suddenly my my husband heard some crazy noise and he grabbed me and yelled get in the basement!"

She saw some of the debris flying and Adam was struck by the debris.

"It was from the garage roof being ripped off and when it slammed into our house some of the wood impaled the house," she said.

Officials will continue surveying the damage to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado.

"We have a lot of damage but we’re thankful no one was hurt and we still have our home, although damaged it’s repairable. Our hearts and prayers go out to the other communities affected by this storm," Wolf added.

Another area that suffered significant damage is Horseman's Camp in Brown County.
