Police: 30 crashes in Decatur, Ripley counties Monday morning

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – There were at least 30 weather-related crashes in Ripley and Decatur counties on Monday morning.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office responded to 23 accidents between 5:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. 

Decatur County Sheriff Bill Meyerrose said the majority of the crashes were slide-offs and property damage, but did say 3 accidents resulted in injuries. 

There were 10 that occurred on I-74, seven on either State Road 3 or State Road 46, and six were on county roads. 

In Ripley County, there were at least nine crashes that resulted in emergency officials responding. The majority were on I-74 as well as U.S. 421.
