(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – An Aurora man is facing an attempted murder charge after incidents that led to a citizen and an Indiana State Trooper being injured.
Police say it all began after a hit-and-run accident on U.S. 421 near Michigan Road in northern Jefferson County on Wednesday.
Troopers say they were investigating the crash when they discovered 46-year-old Larry Webster had also rear-ended another vehicle on U.S. 421.
“After the other driver exited his vehicle, Webster allegedly intentionally struck the vehicle a second time and also struck the other driver, who was standing next to the vehicle. Webster then left the scene in the vehicle,” Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said.
That driver was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment for undisclosed injuries.
Troopers eventually located Webster on Old Michigan Road in Ripley County.
While he was being taken into custody, an altercation occurred that led to an Indiana State Trooper being injured and taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
Webster was also taken to the hospital before being booked into the Jefferson County Jail. He was officially charged with Attempted Murder on Friday.
