Police: Man arrested after 13-year-old gives birth to his child

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A North Vernon man has been arrested as police say a 13-year-old gave birth to his child. 

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office says investigators were notified by the Department of Child Services in early January after the teenager gave birth.

Detectives say DNA samples confirmed that 25-year-old Austin Locke was the father of the child. 

Locke has been arrested and allegedly admitted to have sexual relations with the 13-year-old. 

He has been charged with Child Molesting (Level 1 Felony) and is being held in the Jennings County Jail.
