Police say they found guns, ammunition in the suspect's car

(LIBERTY, Ind.) – A pursuit began after a Liberty Police Officer tried to stop a vehicle last Monday.
It happened around 2 a.m. and police say the vehicle didn’t stop and sped up to 100 miles per hour on State Road 44.
The chase eventually entered Fayette County before the vehicle got away and the pursuit was terminated.
Two hours later, a Fayette County deputy saw a vehicle that matched the description and tried to initiate a traffic stop.
Police say the vehicle sped off again and came back into Union County on State Road 44.
Authorities deployed spike strips which deflated a tire on the vehicle.
“The vehicle continued briefly before losing the deflated tire. Once stopped the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident,” the Liberty Police Department said.
Police say a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun, rifle, ammunition and a drug paraphernalia.
