Police: Suspect gets into confrontation with Jennings Co. deputy

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A suspect and deputy were briefly hospitalized after a confrontation in Jennings County on Thursday.
Deputy Blake Maynard responded to a home in the Paris Crossing area for a report of an unwanted man on the property.
It led the deputy to find 54-year-old Richard Milburn, of Deputy, Indiana.
Deputy Maynard attempted to place Milburn in custody when a brief struggle allegedly occurred.
Milburn was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated prior to being transported to jail.
Maynard was also treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
Milburn was charged with Criminal Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Law Enforcement and Battery on Law Enforcement Causing Bodily Injury.
