Portion of S.R. 1 near St. Leon to close on May 11

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – A portion of State Road 1 near St. Leon will be closed for a few days beginning on May 11. 

The Indiana Department of Transportation will conduct chip seal operations between State Road 46 and U.S. 52. 

The road is expected to be closed for three days and will be accessible to local traffic only. 

It was originally supposed to take place beginning on May 7 but was rescheduled due to the rain. 

The project seals cracks and provides waterproof protection on the road, which lowers maintenance costs.
