Rep. Houchin presented with Indiana Torchbearer Award

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun has recognized Congresswoman Erin Houchin with the 2025 Torchbearer Award. 

Houchin is one of five Indiana women who received the award during a ceremony on Thursday. 

The award recognizes Hoosier women for their exceptional achievements in their community, the state, and the nation.

Representative Houchin was elected to House Republican leadership in 2024, serving as the House Republican Conference Secretary for the 119th Congress, making her the second-highest-ranking woman in the Republican House majority. 

The other women who received the award were Safe Haven Baby Box founder Monica Kelsey, along with Betsy Wiley Grace Estabrook and Kristian Stricklen.
