Search underway for person in Ohio River in Lawrenceburg

UPDATE: The search has been suspended for the night and will resume Wednesday morning

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – An active search is underway on the Ohio River in Lawrenceburg on Tuesday night. 

First responders received a report around 3:30 p.m. of someone face down in the water around the River Watch area. 

A large first responder presence can be seen in the area as crews are searching for a person. 

Agencies on scene include Dearborn County Water Rescue, Lawrenceburg Fire & EMS, Greendale EMS, Colerain Township Fire, Bright Fire, Harrison Fire, Miami Township Fire, Lawrenceburg Police and the Indiana DNR.
