South Decatur Elementary raises money for families in Honduras

Held a penny war fundraiser

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – South Decatur Elementary students are helping families that live overseas.

The school hosted a ‘penny war’ fundraiser last week where each classroom collected coins. 

A total of $1,600 was raised and it is going toward the village of Cucuyagua, Honduras. 

The school said the funds will help 52 families in the country.

The fundraiser was made possible by the school's National Elementary Honor Society members as well as sponsor Lisa Bryant.
