(CINCINNATI) – Kelly Sevier is a 2004 South Ripley graduate who has an entrepreneurial spirit.
She began her career as a model where some of her photos were shared internationally.
Sevier then found an interest in photography and writing which led her to the idea of starting an international magazine that focuses on showcasing musicians.
“Once I was determined to do it there was no stopping me and there was no going back. I had a vision of what I wanted to do and I was going to achieve it,” Sevier said.
She founded two magazines which are called Labyrinth Magazine and Venom Magazine.
Labyrinth focuses on today’s hit music, fashion and unique art. Venom fuses Rock and Heavy Metal music with edgy fashion and dark arts.
Her goal with both magazines is to show a different side of artists while also putting an emphasis on local music.
“I've seen magazines like Rolling Stone feature musicians, but their magazine doesn't really capture a local level. No one’s really doing that, and spanning all levels of music,” she said. "For me, I thought ‘well, if you can't get to this high level without having that stepping stone, where do you start?’”
She recently had an opportunity to interview Kat Von D who is currently on tour in Europe.
They discussed a wide variety of subjects including Kat Von D’s musical journey, her advice to others and also her move from Los Angeles to Vevay.
“We love our little corner of the country. The small town I live in has a population of 1,200 people so it’s a true contrast to living in Los Angeles, but we love it and love the peacefulness and privacy we get from living in rural America,” Kat Von D told Kelly.

For Kelly, she is planning to release a third magazine called SIDEFX.
Kelly also organizes an annual concert called Rocktober each fall. This year it will be in Harrison at the Blue Note on October 4 and Bengals legend Ickey Woods is expected to be part of it.
She is also engaged to her fiance who is the lead singer of Xero Hour. They will get married in Ireland on July 9.
