(VERSAILLES, Ind.) –South Ripley students are giving back to local children who are battling illnesses or in need.
Student Avery Andrews led the initiative that involved the South Ripley Student Council and other classmates.
They raised $600 which allowed the students to make 80 blankets on Thursday.
The project was in association with Project Linus, a nationwide nonprofit that provides handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
Project Linus has a local chapter that was established by former educator Connie Adelman in 2021.
Blankets made by the South Ripley students will be delivered to places such as Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Children’s Advocacy of Greensburg, Safe Passage, Greensburg Bread of Life, and other locations.
