Funds will be used for buy new language arts curriculum

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – St. Lawrence School students raised an astonishing $25,159 during their annual walk-a-thon event on Monday.
Steps for St. Lawrence is an initiative where the students walked or ran laps around the Lawrenceburg High School’s track.
Many of the students raised enough money through individual fundraising that they were entered to win raffle prizes or be able to participate in other activities, such as a Gaga ball tournament.
The money raised will be used to purchase a new language arts curriculum for the 2026-2027 school year.
“Steps for St. Lawrence is an incredible way for our students to engage friends and family in support of their school,” said Father John Hollowell, who led the students in prayer before and after the April 28 event. “It then culminates in an afternoon of fun where children from preschool through 8th grade spend time outside and put focus on their physical health.”
The 2025 Steps for St. Lawrence Event was organized by St. Lawrence School teachers Mary Ann Atwood and Bryan Wagner.
Several area businesses and organizations served as sponsors for the event as well.
Individual and family sponsors and supporters included: Father Jonathan Meyer, Father John Hollowell, MaryAnn Atwood, Randy Dennis, and the Hoffman, Wagner, and Zielinski families.
Several Steps for St. Lawrence sponsors and supporters are St. Lawrence School alumni. If you attended St. Lawrence School and wish to join an alumni mailing list to stay updated about school activities and learn about future events, please email alumni@sls-apps.org.
