(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Local students had the opportunity to learn about marine life during a recent Genesis: Pathways to Success camp.
The Mobile Aquatics Exhibits camp was hosted by Newport Aquarium's Wave Foundation and was held over four different sessions at various locations.
Students got to interact with a penguin during sessions at Bridge of Hope Worship Center and Lawrenceburg Community Center.
Another session gave students an up-close look at a stingray which was held at Versailles Town Hall and the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
The WAVE Foundation also provided meet-and-greets with a real life shark, horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and sea stars.
"Through these unique opportunities, students are able to gain knowledge about distinct marine animals. Additionally, students were encouraged to further conservation efforts and preserve the biodiversity of our world, which is crucial to a healthy and sustainable environment," organizers said.
The Marine Life camp was part of Genesis’ Summer of STREAM series.
