Swiss Wine Fest Ambassadors chosen on Saturday

(VEVAY, Ind.) – Two Ripley County seniors were named the 2025 Swiss Wine Festival Ambassadors on Saturday. 

The contest welcomes pairs of students from several local area high schools. Each pair rides in the parade in a vehicle or float they decorate. They also participate in an on-stage interview with judges. 

Jac-Cen-Del senior Lane Simon was named Male Ambassador and South Ripley senior Avery Andrews was named Female Ambassador.

The other finalists were Johnathon Sweeney of Switzerland County, Olivia Graver of Rising Sun, Mason McNew of South Ripley and Rozalee Bear of South Dearborn. 

The winners receive scholarships which are sponsored by the Community Foundation of Switzerland County

Other participants included Jac-Cen-Del’s Avah Schrepher, Switzerland County’s Eva Zanabria, South Dearborn’s Elliot Meek, Rising Sun’s Carsten Gronberg, along with representatives from Shawe Memorial and Carroll County High School.
