(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Ohio Valley Choral Festival will feature several local schools on Tuesday, November 18.
The festival began in 1938 and is believed to be the longest-running high school choral festival in Indiana.
It will be held at Lawrenceburg High School and local choirs that will participate include Batesville, East Central, Lawrenceburg, Madison and Switzerland County.
Charlestown, Jeffersonville and Silver Creek high schools will also be part of the festival.
Switzerland County is back in the festival for the first time in a few years.
The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend. Tickets cost just $5.
Prior to the festival, Ohio Valley Choral alumni are invited to sing Battle Hymn of the Republic with current students. It will take place at Lawrenceburg High School at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 16.
“Attendance is not required to sing with us, however, we want to offer a time if any alumni would like to rehearse,” said Switzerland County choir director Justin Selmeyer.
