TikTok ban seems likely; What it means for current users of the app

Could be banned on January 19

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – It appears likely that TikTok could get banned in the United States on January 19.

It’s part of a bipartisan Congressional bill that was created due to fears of the app’s Chinese owners using data to manipulate or harm Americans.

The bill mandates that the app be sold to a non- “foreign adversary” or face a ban.

The Supreme Court was presented the matter on Friday and multiple outlets report that it appears likely the high court will uphold the bill.

If TikTok is banned, it doesn’t mean that it will disappear from the phones of users.

It will still be accessible for current users, however, it will be removed from app stores for future download.
