(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Are you curious about the future of the lake at Versailles State Park?
There have been concerns about the 70-year-old lake eventually disappearing due to several factors including inadequate funding and maintenance.
An online petition calling for the Indiana DNR to fund proper maintenance of the lake generated more than 5,000 signatures earlier this summer.
“The future of the lake has been in discussion throughout the community over the last several months, so we're inviting the public, along with our state elected officials and DNR to join us for a conversation about Versailles Lake,” organizers said.
A Town Hall has been organized by Main Street Versailles and it will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 24.
It will be held at the Versailles Town Hall which is located at 128 North Main Street. You can get more info on the meeting by clicking here.
