Trackside Pizza gifts teen employee with scholarship

Restaurant has given $18K in scholarships over past five years

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – Trackside Pizza in Osgood not only serves up lunch and dinner, but also gives back to the community while supporting their young employees.

Owner David Koger started the Trackside Employee Scholarship program five years ago.

It’s his way of supporting college-bound teenagers who work at the small business.

On Saturday, the restaurant held their annual ceremony where South Ripley senior Macy Stone was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Stone has worked at Trackside Pizza for the past two years and will be attending IU Indy this fall.

“It is not a gift, it is an investment in the future of these kids lives, it’s something we do as adults to really help the next generation along,” Koger said.

The Trackside Employee Scholarship has provided $18,000 to graduating seniors since its inception.
