Fundraiser launched to help cover funeral costs

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) — A public visitation for 17-year-old Peyton Sherrell will be held on Tuesday.
Peyton passed away last week after overcoming numerous medical battles during her life.
Her family says the visitation is an opportunity to celebrate Peyton’s life and they welcome all friends of hers.
She attended Batesville Schools until this past year.
“Peyton was the strongest person we all knew tackling a heart transplant at age 2, cancer from the transplant and beat it all at age 4 but even with all she endured, she pushed through for 15 years,” her family said.
The visitation will be held from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.
A fundraiser is underway to help her family afford the funeral costs.
"She was never a candidate for life insurance due to her medical history," organizers said.
