(SUNMAN, Ind.) – A memorial procession was held for Charlie Kirk in Ripley County on Sunday.
The ride coincided with his funeral that was taking place in Arizona.
More than 60 vehicles gathered at the Sunman Town Park before the procession traveled on state roads in Ripley County.
It was organized by Sunman resident Laura Eckstein who says she created the event for reasons that go far beyond politics.
“I feel there is a lot of darkness in the world and we just need some light, unity, and hope. I just want to bring people together to believe in some good, some God and feel some healing and joy in the presence of darkness,” Eckstein told The 812.
There have been a handful of vigils and other events in Southeast Indiana following the death of Charlie Kirk.
Last week, students at Switzerland County High School held a rally. Read about that by clicking this link.
