Winter storm moves through Southeast Indiana

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – Parts of Southeast Indiana have received close to a foot of snow by daylight Sunday. 


Several counties are currently under a “Red” travel advisory which means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. You can view the list here. 


Several accidents were reported overnight including at least one vehicle that went into pond in Franklin County. 


Snow showers are expected to continue throughout the day along with dangerous cold temperatures. 


The high temperature will not exceed 20 degrees on Sunday with the low temperature in the single digits along with subzero wind chills. 


“Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water,” National Weather Service forecasters said. 


A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for Monday as wind chills as low as around 15 below zero expected.
