(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Hundreds of young swimmers from across Southeast Indiana competed in the SEISA Championship in Greensburg on Saturday.
The annual meet brings together swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18 who are members of their community’s swim program.
Milan Aquatics arrived at the meet as the reigning champions and were hoping to repeat.
Other teams that competed were Batesville, Decatur County, Hidden Valley, South Dearborn, Switzerland County and Jefferson County.
This year, the trophy went to the Decatur County Tiger Sharks for just the second time ever!
Decatur County also won in 2016 and had never won the SEISA Championship before then.
The coaches this year are Josh and Amy Hawkins along with Abby Bausback.
There were two divisions of the competition, the first was for swimmers 10-years and younger, and then followed by the 11-18 age group.
SEISA was formed as a competitive conference in 1976 and it's primary purpose is to provide kids with swimming skills which can last a lifetime.
