(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Some Ripley County teenagers are gearing up for a unique trip out west next month.
Youth to Yellowstone of Ripley County is a nonprofit organization that provides the opportunity for highschoolers to embark on a 12-day journey to Yellowstone National Park every summer.
The students nor their families incur any cost for the trip as all expenses are covered.
On Sunday, the students continued their preparation for the trip as they learned how to assemble tents and costs, and they also participated in team-building exercises.
“The orientation day ensures the students are ready for the challenges and adventures of camping and hiking in the wilderness, fostering confidence, camaraderie and a deeper appreciation for nature,” said trip organizer Nancy Laymon.
The organization relies solely on donations and volunteers.
