(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – An 81-year-old woman was killed in a crash on State Road 1 in Franklin County. 

The accident happened near the intersection of S.R. 1 and Rhein Road around 5 p.m. Wednesday. 

Deputies say a Ford Fusion was entering the intersection from Rhein Road when it was struck by a Toyota Tacoma. 

Rosa Banks, of Laurel, was driving the Ford Fusion and suffered fatal injuries and passed away at the scene. 

A passenger in her car sustained minor injuries while the driver of the Toyota was reportedly uninjured. 

Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. 

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Letts EMS, Brookville Fire Department, and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
