Bright Fire called to Rumpke landfill fire Sunday

(COLERAIN TWP., OH.) – The Bright Fire Department was among the agencies who responded to a fire at the Rumpke landfill in Ohio on Sunday night.
The fire broke out sometime before 7 p.m. and a cloud of black smoke could be seen for many miles.
While departments such as Colerain Fire were first to respond, additional resources were also requested.
Bright Fire responded with two tankers.
The fire was contained around 8:18 p.m. and firefighters added that nobody was injured.
EPA officials monitored the air quality but it was determined that there was no threat to the area around 10 p.m. Sunday.
