Brookville Police benefit kids, elderly during Christmas season

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The Brookville Police Department has taken several initiatives to bring Christmas cheer to the community.
The department donated 32 board games to Laurel Elementary earlier this month.
On Tuesday, the department donated more than 30 board games to the residents of Envive Healthcare.
That visit also included officers meeting with nursing home resident Lester Schneider who served on the police department for 30 years. The department provided him with some patches and decor for his room.
Brookville Police also participated in their annual Shop with a Cop event at the Oxford Walmart. The initiative provided 72 Franklin County children with $250 to purchase Christmas gifts.
The department recognized Sgt. Lucas Richardson and his wife for coordinating several of these events this month. Richardson is one of the candidates running for Franklin County Sheriff in 2026.
