City of Greensburg promotes two employees to lead their departments

New Water and Wastewater Superintendents have been named

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The City of Greensburg is promoting two employees to lead their respective departments.

Aaron Schwendenmann has been promoted to the role of Superintendent of the Water Plant. He has worked there since 2011 and will fill the role of outgoing Superintendent Rick Denney.

Joe Cain has been named Wastewater Superintendent. He has served as a lab technician for the department since 2022 and began his career with the City of Greensburg in 1998.

Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh says both promotions are well deserved, and also recognized Denney for his years of service to the city.

"Throughout his tenure, Rick played a vital role in guiding our team through the construction and transition to a new treatment facility, as well as the city’s growth and development. We deeply appreciate his contributions and wish him the very best in his future endeavors," Marsh said.

"At the same time, I am proud to announce the well-earned internal promotions of Aaron and Joe to leadership roles. I have full confidence in their ability to lead our Utilities department with efficiency, effectiveness, and a strong vision for the future of our community.”

Both Aaron and Joe are lifelong Greensburg residents and hold numerous certifications in their respective roles.
