(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Community members are encouraged to get involved in the Disability and Autism Services of Indiana (DASI Kids) annual Walk of Cause in April.
April is National Autism Acceptance Month and DASI Kids is hoping to collectively accomplish 10 million steps this month.
The walk has raised money for special needs organizations in the area over the past few years.
Funds this year will go toward the new Decatur County Pool project. You can read more about that here.
“The new Decatur County Pool Project is a game-changer for families who require accessible recreation. A zero-entry design removes the physical and emotional barrier of ladders and steps, allowing children to enter the water at their own pace,” said DASI Kids Director of Operations Erin Morgan.
Participants track their steps during the month of April and then submit them to this link or by emailing walkforacause@dasikids.com.
The Decatur County Community Foundation will match all proceeds dollar-for-dollar that are raised during the campaign.
