DCMH holds annual Women’s Health Expo

Was held on March 8

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) –  Decatur County Memorial Hospital made vital screenings and education more accessible through its annual Women’s Health Expo.

The expo allowed women to receive all recommended preventative screenings for their age, including A1c & Lipid Panel (Diabetes & Heart Health), Mental Health Screening, Skin Cancer Screening, Thyroid Function Tests (Three Types), Vitamin Deficiency Tests (Two Types), and Urinary Incontinence Screening.

These vital screenings, conducted by Dr. Duncan Hamilton, Dr. Krystle Roberts, Dr. Karen Summe, Dr. Scott Washburn, Dr. Amanda Williams, and Nurse Practitioners Marie Menchhofer, Kelly Miller, and Jill Prickel, help detect serious health conditions early and provide essential care for those who may not receive regular check-ups.

Made possible through Decatur County Memorial Hospital and the generosity of the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County and its supporters, these screenings remained free, ensuring community members could receive life-saving evaluations they might otherwise go without.

The expo also involved numerous vendors and expert-led presentations.

Attendees also enjoyed guided tours of the DCMH Rehabilitation & Medical Offices building and a house-made brunch by the DCMH Dietary Team, complete with delicious bites and a celebratory atmosphere.

This year, 93% of attendees utilized DCMH’s new online registration system, reflecting the growing demand for convenient, tech-friendly healthcare solutions. By allowing patients to start the scheduling process online instead of making the first call, DCMH is improving access to care.

"Providing an easy, digital-first way to begin the registration process helps remove initial barriers to care," said Liz McCoy, Marketing & Communications Manager of DCMH. "Our goal is to create a more seamless and welcoming experience, ensuring that every patient feels empowered to take charge of their health."

With expanded screenings, improved accessibility, and an even stronger focus on patient experience, the 2025 Women’s Health Expo took last year’s success to new heights—proving once again that when healthcare is made more accessible, more people thrive.

"We are committed to providing innovative, patient-centered care," said Rex McKinney, CEO/President of DCMH. "The Women’s Health Expo is one way we ensure women in our community have access to the screenings and education they need, in a welcoming and uplifting environment."
