Hospital recognized for fifth year in a row

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County Women’s Center has earned the 2024 INspire Hospital of Distinction Award.
This marks the fifth consecutive year the DCMH team has earned this recognition from the Indiana Hospital Association (IHA).
The award recognizes excellence in key areas that improve outcomes for mothers and newborns, including DCMH’s programs that educate on substance abuse, implement patient safety bundles to address preventable concerns, offer tailored breastfeeding support, educate on safe sleep practices, and provide tobacco prevention and cessation services.
“Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care and education to every expectant parent and their newborn. By consistently applying the best practices, we aim to improve health outcomes and support the well-being of families in our community,” said Women’s Center Manager Tammy Sidell.
DCMH supports local families through initiatives like the Healthy Start Communities that C.A.R.E. (HSCC) program. Decatur County residents can access personalized assistance from a Perinatal Nurse Navigator, who offers tailored education, resources, and support throughout the parenthood journey. Services include lactation guidance, maternal mental health care, safe sleep practices, and more, ensuring every family has the tools they need to thrive.
