(GREENDALE, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Democratic Party has released a statement following the arrest of a Greendale City Councilman.
Brett “Mooch” Hamilton was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing $115K from the Dillsboro Civic Club.
“These allegations — spanning theft, fraud, money laundering, corrupt business influence, and official misconduct — are so severe and egregious that our County Party is actively exploring all available legal and ethical options to hold Mr. Hamilton accountable and to ensure that the residents of Greendale are represented with honesty and integrity,” said Dearborn County Democratic Party Vice Chair Christine Craig.
Hamilton pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.
“The people of Dearborn County — and especially the citizens of Greendale — deserve transparency, accountability, and integrity from their elected leaders, not self-enrichment or political cronyism,” Craig added.
Craig, who lost the election for Greendale Town Clerk, provided the comments to this story.
