(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Decatur County family has been displaced after a house fire on Wednesday morning.
It happened around 7 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block West County Road 400 South.
Letts and Westport fire departments were dispatched and Greensburg Fire was also called to the scene.
The fire was located in the kitchen ceiling and had extended into the second floor.
“Access to the second floor had been previously boarded up, requiring firefighters to gain entry through an exterior window,” stated the Letts Fire Department.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family. No injuries were reported and the home had working smoke detectors, firefighters added.
“The Letts Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to all automatic and mutual-aid partners for their outstanding teamwork and professionalism during this morning’s incident,” the department stated.
