(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – District 68 State Representative Garrett Bascom has announced that he has filed to seek re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives.
Bascom says he has delivered results to Southeast Indiana that includes authoring or sponsoring five bills that were signed into law last year.
He has focused on issues such as expanding access to mental health services, strengthening enforcement of immigration laws, promoting a fair and effective justice system, and protecting Second Amendment rights.
"As a husband and father, I think constantly about the kind of Indiana my kids will grow up in," Bascom said. "That perspective shapes how I approach this job-focused on practical, common-sense solutions that protect families, respect our values, and keep our communities strong."
Before serving in the Indiana House, Bascom worked at the Indiana Attorney General's Office. In 2021, he returned home to Southeast Indiana to serve as a deputy prosecutor for Dearborn-Ohio County.
Bascom then established his own law firm serving Southeast Indiana.
"I would be honored to earn your vote and your continued support," Bascom said. "Together, we can keep building a safer, stronger future for Southeast Indiana."
Democrat Hunter Collins filed for the seat last week and you can read about him here.
