(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Classmates, teachers and community members are rallying behind a Greensburg sophomore.
17-year-old Trenton Fogle, also known as Bubba, is battling Diamond-Blackfan Anemia (DBA) which is a rare blood disorder that prevents his bone marrow from producing enough red blood cells.
He is currently hospitalized at Riley Children’s Hospital where he is undergoing chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.
Fogle will likely be hospitalized for the next few months and will have to continue visiting the hospital for the extended future.
He is part of the Life Skills class at Greensburg Community High School where his classmates have sent cards and also a personalized video message to Fogle earlier this week.
His teacher, Brooke Schwering, has organized a donation drive where the school is collecting gas gift cards and food gift cards for the family.
The gift cards can be dropped off at the high school front office until November 14.
“Our school family already misses his laughter and his positive energy dearly. He is truly one of those students who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation — he is caring, humble, and always thinking of others,” Schwering said.
A Go Fund Me has also been established which you can access by clicking here.
You can also follow along with Bubba through a Facebook page that has been created.
