EC seniors saved more than $6M in college tuition

There are 299 seniors in this year's graduation class

(ST. LEON, Ind.)  - East Central High School will host their commencement ceremony this weekend.


Administrators are recognizing the class of 299 seniors for their academic success, college and career readiness and post-secondary success. 


According to the school, the class obtained 5,962 college credits which is an estimated college tuition savings of $6 million. 


There were also 100 Indiana College Core Certificates earned, 19 Associate Degrees, 127 Academic Honors Diplomas and 72 Technical Honor Diplomas.


“This graduating class has achieved historic results,” said East Central High School Principal Tom Black. “From college-level coursework to industry certifications and military service, the Class of 2025 represents the very best of East Central and the future of our communities.” 


There were also more than $5 million in scholarships awarded. 


The commencement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be a live stream here.
