Fundraiser for TX officer shot in the line of duty

(CORPUS CHRISTI, TX) – A fundraiser is underway for a Corpus Christi police officer who was shot in the line of duty. 

36-year-old Alexandria Cano Castro was shot in the head while attempting to arrest a homicide suspect on Friday, January 23. 

“She remains in critical condition today, fighting for her life. Two additional officers were shot but have been released from the hospital,” said a local constable. 

A Go Fund Me has been created to support the long-term care, rehabilitation, and unexpected expenses facing Cano Castro’s family during this time. 

“When one officer is hurt in the line of duty, the entire law-enforcement family feels it,” Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said.
